UBATUBA'S BEACHES

AND SURROUNDINGS ATTRACTION!

The north region of Ubatuba has the most untouched beaches of the coast and it is very important for the tourist to be conscious – leave only footprints, take only pictures and carry away only good memories.

Estaleiro

It is beside the Ubatumirim beach, divided by the river with the same name. It attracts people because of the simplicity, tranquility and nature. It has characteristics of a fishermen beach.

Picinguaba

The access is by a secondary road. It is part of the ``Núcleo Picinguaba Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar``. It is an old fishermen village protected by the historical heritage. It is impossible to make changes. The local fishermen still preserve houses, canoes, fishermen artifacts with their original characteristics. With calm water is where the boats leave and come back. There are bars and restaurants.

It is part of Picinguaba Center, Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar. The access is by a steep trail that is part of the road. It is excellent to practice surf. Some fishermen live in the place.

Camburi

The last beach of the north coast of São Paulo State, in the border of Rio de Janeiro State. The access is by dirt road and it goes through an old coffee farm. It is part of Picinguaba Center, Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar. It is a traditional fishermen village. It has light sands and in some periods it is good for surfing. There are bars and rustic restaurants.

Trindade

Nice village close to the border of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro States. It is part of the city of Paraty. Protected and surrounded by Mata Atlântica, it is almost isolated. The main attraction are its six beautiful beaches with crystal clear water, natural swimming pools, trails, waterfalls, handcraft fairs and good food.

Prumirim

The access is by a secondary road, near the known Prumirim Waterfall, it is an old ``caiçara`` center. Today it is a condominium with houses for the summer. It is a beach with thick sand, with about 1.000 meters of length; it is good for surfing in some areas.

Félix

The beach has strong waves in the left corner, very popular for surfing. At the right side, the sea is calm, creating a natural swimming pool. It has white sand and the waterfront has apricot trees.

DIVING IN NATURE

TROMBADOR WATERFALL

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Ubatuba with about 15 meters of height and a beautiful pond for a bath. It is very dangerous when there is a rain storm. It shouldn´t be visited when there is the possibility of rain.

The hike until the waterfall starts at Ubatumirim river in the suspension bridge (to arrive there it is necessary to walk 800 meters in the paved road in the way to the highway – BR). After it is about 3 km of hike in an open trail inside the banana trees, you will see thick forest, agro forestry yards, streams with red colors where you can swim, but the main attraction is the Trombador waterfall.

  • Total route - 3,8 km
  • Duration - one hour to go, one hour to come back
  • Difficulty - low, flat ground.
  • Danger - to slide in the waterfall

LAJE WATERFALL

It is a beautiful waterfall, but less known than the Trombador. The path goes inside the wilderness, passing the neighborhood school, the church, the party square, the cooperative agribusiness (where the native fruits are processed such as juçara and cambuci), and you will see many houses of the local residents.

  • Total route - 2,5 km
  • Duration - one hour to go, 45 minutes to come back
  • Difficulty - low, but with many slopes
  • Danger - to slide in the waterfall
